Manuscript land purchase from Indians Maweytay (?) and Oneleek, both named Schermerhorn and Jan DeBacker, to Capt. Salisbury and Martin Gerritsen with a “confirmatory” purchase by Cornelius Van Dyke and Marte Garritse. 1-1/4 pages. Folio, single-sheet folded, docketed on verso, double-sided glass frame provided; creased at folds, some browning, etc.

The land transfer consisted of the “Five Flats” or “Great Plains” called by the indians Wachachkeek, Wichguanachtikak, Pachquiack, Assiskowachkok and Potick (Vedder, Hist. of Greene County) and included over 35,000 acres. Signed with the marks of Papegay, Maweytay and Oneleek and witnessed by Robert Livingston.
