NUMBER 13 OF 750 NUMBERED LARGE PAPER COPIES, volume 1 with 3-page holograph letter in purple ink to Lady Strangford and SIGNED BY M. E. LEWES [George Eliot]. Written shortly after the death of her husband, George Lewes, on black bordered paper, Eliot is asking Strangford if she knows of anyone in need of a nurse.
